So I posted a Blog entry about the Bill to Ban Dietary Aids.
I sent a few emails out using the form on the page and I honestly did not think I would receive a response. I guess I should be less negative on things, because I did actually receive and email reply.

May 20, 2010 Dear (ACCESS DENIED) Thank you for your letter regarding the Dietary Supplement Safety Act of 2010. The original sponsor of this bill, Senator John McCain, recently withdrew his name from the legislation. I do appreciate your thoughts I wholeheartedly oppose the Dietary Supplement Safety Act (DSSA). At the heart of this matter is the issue of how to control and discontinue the distribution of illegal steroid substances. I am confident that Currently, FDA regulates dietary supplements under a different set of regulations than those covering “conventional” foods and drug products (prescription and Over-the-Counter). Drugs and supplements should not be treated the same by the FDA. The Dietary Supplement Safety Act would hinder consumers’ ability to choose healthcare and wellness options outside of the scope of more “traditional” Again, thank you for contacting my office.
